Multi-Organ Protective Effects of Curcumin Nanoparticles on Drug-Induced Acute Myocardial Infarction in Rats with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

The objectives of this study were to investigate the cardio-protective, hepatoprotective and nephroprotective effects curcumin nanoparticle (NC) pretreatment compared conventional (CC) on acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in rats with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Fifty-six Wister Bratislava divided into eight groups. first four groups—C (control group), AMI (group AMI), T1DM T1DM), T1DM-AMI AMI)—received only saline (S) during whole experiment. Two groups—S-T1DM-CC-AMI S-T1DM-NC-AMI—were pretreated S before induction. S-T1DM-CC-AMI group received CC (200 mg/Kg bw (bw—body weight)) after induction, while S-T1DM-NC-AMI NC bw) CC-T1DM-CC-AMI Similarly, NC-T1DM-NC-AMI over entire was induced day 7 using a single dose streptozotocin (STZ). isoproterenol (ISO) 22. Both formulations, NC, prevented following electrocardiographic changes: prolongation QRS complex, enlargement QT QTc intervals, ST-segment elevation. Glucose levels lipid profile parameters reduced up 1.9 times, C-peptide serum increased 1.6 times groups that or NC. Liver function (aspartate transaminase, alanine transaminase) kidney (creatinine, urea) 4.8 histological changes liver tissue improved by administration. Pretreatment proved significantly higher cardioprotective, case T1DM.
